Sweet Basil (Purple)

With a milder flavor and a clove-like, spicy aroma, than sweet basil, purple basil makes a gorgeous addition to your meals. These deep hued leaves is best when served raw, but it will also make an amazing pesto, even despite its dark color! The sweet spiciness also lends itself well when making syrups, vinegars, or desserts! 1 bunch.

To keep basil fresh, trim the stems and place them in a glass or jar of water, just like cut flowers. Loosely cover it with a plastic bag and leave it on the counter. Although certain herbs, such as parsley and cilantro, can be stored this way in the fridge, basil does better at room temperature.
