An Eden Ridge Farm Box is an opportunity to grace your table with up to 17 weeks of organically grown seasonal bounty from your local farm (and on occasion items sourced from other trusted and like-minded chemical-free local farms we collaborate with.)

A farm box gives you the opportunity to become a farm “shareholder” and commit to a weekly partnership through access to fresh produce (veggies & fruit) on a weekly basis during the growing season.

What Will I Find in a Weekly Box?

Visualize transferring your perfectly packed and freshly harvested, crisp and colorful farm produce into your cooler or bag. Imagine going home and creating mouth-watering simple recipes and hearing your family offering up their praises for a flavorful packed meal that delights their taste buds. 

Each box includes 6-7 produce items per week. A lovely blend of must-have staples and on occasion some rare specialty varieties to help you explore some profound flavors while possibly broadening your food boundaries a bit. 

 

Where Do I Pick Up My Farm Box?

We offer multiple choices for your convenience!

 

AT THE FARM

Our farm is conveniently located 15 min. south of West Des Moines’ city limits. 12 min. south of Norwalk & 15 min. west of Indianola, and just minutes to other surrounding and local communities and towns. Pickups are done at the farmhouse front porch Tuesdays 2-6 pm & Fridays 2-5 pm. Please see current seasonal pickup hours at the bottom of our website during the growing season.

TRUTH FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC

Convenient pickup location right off EP True PKWY in West Des Moines.
This pickup option is every Thursdays, 2-5pm.  from June 6th 2024 – September 26th 2024. (Please see current seasonal pickup hours at the bottom of our website during the growing season.) Pickup at this location has an additional $3 fee per delivery and will be added to the purchase cost at time of checkout.

HOW WE COMMUNICATE WITH YOU

Communication is key. Email is the most efficient way we keep you in the loop!

During the 17-weeks (or 4 week) farm box growing season, we will be communicating with you through the email address you signed up with. If you don’t see a welcome email for joining the 2024 growing season, check your spam folder. If you still don’t see an email, let us know ASAP. Please allow up to 24 hrs during business hours after your initial purchase. For emergencies, or quick alerts we may utilize text (this is rare). We will send out a weekly email to our farm box shareholders and by signing up for a farm box you are agreeing to checking and reading that weekly email to stay in the loop. Sometimes, you won’t find any other information anywhere else and this weekly email is crucial to being a farm box shareholder.

WHEN DOES THE GROWING SEASON BEGIN?

Our 2024 growing season begins June 4th and goes to September 26th. A total of 17 weeks of farm to table goodness! However, we will have fresh produce available through the end of October, and other farm goods available all year long.

 

WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO ORDER EACH WEEK?

We have quite a few farm goods available year-round as well as our seasonal fresh produce. Please head over to our What We Grow page to view a list of some of the things you will most likely find month by month at our farm. This page will give you a pretty good idea of how to plan for what will be available. This is not 100% accurate though, as we are unable to control the seasons and the weather that comes with it. We can’t give you an exact date of each veggie and fruit we grow, just a good guess with our farm planning. 

Don’t forget, we also have pastured meat available every month. (Pork & Chicken as well as Turkey seasonally). Be sure to get your deposits in earlier than later each month as we sell out quickly. Please note, our farm meats are not included in our veggie farm boxes, but are great farm add-ons. 

 

FARM BOX HOLDER SHOPPING PERK

We give our Farm Box shareholders a special shopping perk. You get to shop 1 hr. prior to us opening our market tables to the public. Note, please order farm add-ons like honey, eggs, farm teas, jams, jellies, and other items prior to shopping the market table, as we won’t always have these available at the tables due to room during the heavy part of the growing season. 

FARM BOX SIZES

All our boxes serve approx. 2-3 individuals. Why is this? This meets right in the middle for most of our Farm Box family’s needs, while enabling us to simplify the workload of several box sizes. With 6-7 items approx. per box, the veggies can pile up quickly. If by chance you need a larger size to feed more in your family, you are welcome to purchase more than one box. (Savings tip for larger families: Purchase your 1st box and utilize a farm membership to purchase extra produce at discount.) If you have a smaller household, we recommend splitting with a friend. 🙂

CAN I SEND A PICKUP SUBSTITUTE IF I CAN'T PICKUP MY BOX?

Yes! If you cannot pick up your farm box, please have a friend or family member pick up for you at your designated location. All they need to do is give us your name at pick-up.  Just share the pick-up ropes with your substitute and how it works depending on what box option you chose. Remind them to bring a cooler, or bag to take items home in. We can assist them as needed. It’s helpful if you let us know you are sending a friend in your place just as a heads up.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A PICKUP?

It takes numerous hours, days and weeks involved to plan, grow, harvest, and pack and load your farm goods three days a week. Much work goes on behind the scenes. It’s a major investment, and our family does it all ourselves, on occasion during busy seasons we may hire help. If you are unable to pick up due to emergencies, please make different arrangements or get in touch with us promptly for possible alternatives. Have a family or friend pick-up for you. If something comes up, please call us! Communication is everything to keep everything running smoothly. 

 

BOX DONATIONS: You can always choose to donate your box if you are going out of town or are unable to find a friend to pick up for you when you are away. If your farm box is not picked up on your scheduled day, and there has not been prior communication of an arrangement, we will consider the farm box ‘abandoned’, and will deliver your items to one of our donation centers of choice. Often Ruth Harbor Ministries & The Friendship Center of Des Moines. 

CAN I SWITCH MY PICKUP OR DELIVERY/DROP LOCATION?

Unfortunately, we no longer allow this. We ask that you try your best to pick a location that best meets your family’s needs for the entire 17 weeks. We understand things do happen and plans must change, so please choose a substitute family or friend to pick up for you or consider donating your box.  For emergency cases, we ask that you please try and connect with a family or friend to pick up your farm goods. If someone can’t take your place, please give us a call.

 

**Are you a raw milk herdshare member as well as a Farm Box shareholder? We suggest choosing the same day you pick up your raw milk at the farm. 

 

HOW DO I USE MY FARM MEMBERSHIP FOR ADD-ON ITEMS?


SHOPPING THE ONLINE STORE:
Shop our farm online store 24/7. Add your add-on items to your cart and choose your farm pickup day or drop location (please choose the same day you have your Farm Box share.) Remember, before you click submit on your order, be sure to enter your Membership code in the coupons section as this cannot be applied later.

SHOPPING A MARKET TABLE OR FARMSTAND: No problem! Just be sure to mention your farm membership at checkout. Please note, we have limited space for many extra add-ons and encourage you to order in advance online to ensure you have the items you need at your pickup location.

I FORGOT TO APPLY MY FARM MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT WHEN ORDERING MY ADD-ONS

If you forget to apply your membership discount code to your farm orders, we are unable to apply it later. Please don’t ask us to change it, as this is no longer possible after an order has been submitted. If we must cancel the order, we are unable to refund the complete total due to the processing fees we still incur as well as a small office fee to “redo” or fix the order. Thanks for understanding. Be sure to type in your membership code in the coupon section before clicking the red submit button. 

ITEMS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PURCHASE WITH A FARM MEMBERSHIP

FARM PARTNER PRODUCTS, many are not eligible. This includes things like fresh flowers. Look for the **Not eligible with Farm Membership

FARM MEMBERSHIPS, OR GIFT CARDS, are not eligible.

MEAT DEPOSITS, and LOCKER FEES, are not eligible. (However, a farm membership CAN be used for the final balance of meat purchases.) 🙂

FARM PICKUP INFO

Farm pickups are available every Tuesday 2-6 pm & Friday 2-5 pm year-round for all kinds of farm purchases. Our farm box season and market tables will be available during the 2024 growing season and as weather permits a market table will be available. At this time, we are currently doing pickups on the farmhouse front porch (please note different driveway than main farm entrance – driveway 10126.)

WEST DES MOINES DROP INFO

We offer a West Des Moines delivery/drop once a week, every Thursday, 2-5 pm during the Farm Box season at Truth Family Chiropractic. There is a $3 delivery fee per delivery for this location and is already applied to the initial purchase of a West Des Moines delivery box. A Market Table will be available weekly, weather permitting.

WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER ON PICKUP DAY?

We define “bad weather” as severe thunderstorm, hail, tornado warnings, lightening, blizzards or any weather not advised for travel – anything that prevents you or us from safely standing outside. If this type of weather occurs, we will contact you via email or text with alternate details.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY
We do not offer cancellation refunds on Farm Boxes
If you for any reason are dissatisfied with an item or have a problem with a farm product, please give us a chance to make you happy by connecting with us ASAP. We want the best for our farm friends! 

If for any reason you ever need to cancel an order with a bank card/credit card, we are unable to refund the full amount due to processing fees we garner with your order.

FORCE MAJEURE
If Eden Ridge Acres LLC is unable to carry out its obligations due to a Force Majeure
We will do our best to send out a written notice to customers in such an event, and the obligations shall be suspended to the extent necessary by such event.
The term Force Majeure shall include, without limitations, acts of God, medical personal emergency, plague, epidemic, pandemic, outbreaks of infectious disease or any other public health crisis, including quarantine or other restrictions, fire, explosion, vandalism, storm or other similar occurrence, orders or acts of military or civil authority, or by national emergencies, insurrections, riots, or wars, or strikes, lockouts, or supplier failures. Eden Ridge Acres LLC agrees to do what they can to accommodate the needs of the
customers as best as they can if able.
