HOW WE FARM

At Eden Ridge Acres we care deeply about the quality of our food and the regenerative practices of our farming. Producing healthy foods that nurtures our own family, as well as your family, is valued highly. We offer a diverse selection of chemical-free food, year-round on our farm.

From seed to harvest, pasture to plate. With integrity, we’re growing produce using organic methods, and raising our antibiotic and hormone-free animals on pasture, and good old-fashioned sunlight.

Our mission: To reunite farm and family back to the table. Providing the local community with a renewed appreciation for heritage farming and food, from farmers they can trust.

IT STARTS WITH THE SEED

We use organic, heirloom and non-GMO seeds only in our gardens.

OUR GROWING PHILOSOPHY

All of our produce is grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms. We take an extra precaution; on our farm and are part of the Field Watch registry (the no spray list.) Our produce is naturally good for you, as well as pollinator friendly! A win, win for all!

DISEASE & PEST CONTROL

We try our best to manage diseases and pests by employing methods such as crop rotation, companion planting methods and physical barriers such as row cover and wildflowers. These methods help deter certain pests while also attracting the good ones! As a last resort, if ever needed, we may use naturally organic-approved pesticides to help save a crop.

CARING FOR THE SOIL

Building our soil fertility through the use of cover crops plays an important part on our farm. Whenever possible, we seed cover crops following each vegetable crop, or at least do our best to cover the ground. Our goal is to have as much of the farm covered as possible before the winter months. Feeding the soil is one of our top goals. Healthy soil provides healthy food.

WEED CONTROL

Diversity is key to a healthy farm, so we grow a wide variety of produce. Weeds are controlled with mulches (like straw, plastic mulch, landscape fabric and “living” mulches) and try our best to use minimal cultivation, as well as some good old-fashioned hoeing and hand-weeding!

Every crop we grow, is something our own family personally serves on our own farm table.
