Potatoes (Yukon)

Yukon Gold is an heirloom variety with light yellow skin, a fine-grained texture and a rich and delicious buttery flavor. It contains a higher level of natural sugar content than many other potato varieties, thus providing a richer flavor when roasted or fried in a skillet. 3 lb. bag.

Yukon Golds are excellent for roasting, frying, boiling, adding to soups, stews or casserole dishes. They also make the fluffiest mashed potatoes, but aren’t the best for making a good-old-fashioned bake potato as the light skin is super thin.

Like all potatoes, Yukon Golds will last longer if stored out of direct sunlight. Pick an area that is cool, dark and humid. Your garage or an unheated closet will work nicely. The ideal temperature for short term storage is 65 to 70 degrees F. They will last at this temperature for one or two weeks. For longer-term storage of 2 to 3 months keep the temperature around 42 to 55 degrees F.

Yukon Gold potatoes contain nearly twice as much vitamin C as a regular baking potato and provide some potassium as well.
