Other uses for Cream of Tartar:
You can lighten your pancakes. Simply beat egg whites and tartar until soft peaks form, then add it to your favorite pancake recipe batter to have flapjacks that cook up light and fluffy.
Baked meringues are a glorious and low-fat dessert. You can make them by beating the egg whites with tartar, adding sugar and vanilla. The meringues are then put into a pastry bag with a fluted tip and piped into a bowl shape, after which they are baked. The beautiful white, edible cups can then be filled with your favorite fruit filling and topped with whipped cream that can be flavored with a fruit extract.
Use it to lighten up your cakes as well!
